Being a member of the New Zealand Register of Acupuncturist means I am recognised by the Accident Compensation Corportation (ACC) as a Treatment Provider.
If you have had an accident, you can register a claim with ACC with your GP, Osteopath or physiotherapist. Once your claim has been accepted by ACC and you have been given an ACC45 number or claim number, you can make an appointment with me. You do not need a referral if you have a claim number. Acupuncture treatment is only valid for ACC claims less than one year old. Usually you will be granted between 10 and 20 subsidised sessions by ACC. Once your treatment starts you have one year to use your sessions.
Early acupuncture treatment can effectively reduce pain and inflammation and speed up the healing process. Do not worry if the injured part is inaccessible due to plaster, dressings or bandaging. There are many points in other parts of the body that can effectively treat the problem area.
